Fanatics Sportsbook, the third licensed online operator in Connecticut, is closing in on a 25% share of the state’s online sports betting market — a stronger competitive position than the brand has achieved in most other US states where it competes.

March 2026 Numbers

According to March 2026 monthly reporting from Connecticut’s Department of Consumer Protection Gaming Division, Fanatics Sportsbook accepted approximately $50.7 million in wagers in March, representing roughly a quarter of the state’s $217.1 million total online handle.

In the same period:

  • FanDuel (Mohegan Tribe partner): ~38.6% share
  • DraftKings (Mashantucket Pequot Tribe partner): ~37.2% share
  • Fanatics (Connecticut Lottery partner): ~24-25% share

The combined FanDuel and DraftKings handle of $158.9 million was within 2% of each operator, the tightest top-two finish in CT history.

Why Fanatics Performs Better in CT Than Elsewhere

Fanatics Sportsbook operates in more than 20 US states, but the Connecticut market has produced one of the operator’s strongest relative performances. Several factors contribute:

  • Three-operator market structure. Connecticut’s Public Act 21-23 caps the online sportsbook market at three master licenses (one per tribe plus one for the CT Lottery). In states with 8-15 operators, Fanatics typically lands in the 3-5% share range. In CT, the smaller field gives Fanatics more share to capture.
  • Lottery brand association. Fanatics inherited the Connecticut Lottery Corporation partnership in December 2023 after Rush Street Interactive’s SugarHouse Sportsbook exited the market. The Lottery has built distribution and brand recognition over decades, which transferred to the Fanatics product.
  • FanCash rewards. Fanatics’ loyalty currency (FanCash, redeemable for sports merchandise at Fanatics.com) appeals to a different segment than DraftKings Crown Rewards or FanDuel rewards. Local sports apparel buyers — Patriots, Yankees, Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics fans — find tangible value beyond bonus bets.
  • No retail competition disadvantage. Both FanDuel (Mohegan Sun) and DraftKings (Foxwoods) have retail casino integration that Fanatics lacks in CT. But because online represents 96.5% of CT handle, the retail advantage is smaller than in states with broader retail networks.

What 25% Means in CT Context

In states where Fanatics has been live for 2+ years, the operator typically holds 5-15% share. The 25% CT figure puts Fanatics structurally closer to the FanDuel-DraftKings duopoly than in any other meaningful US market.

For Connecticut bettors, this matters because Fanatics’ growing share supports continued investment in product depth — over time, this means more prop markets, deeper SGP construction, and broader live-betting catalogs that have historically lagged FanDuel and DraftKings.
