How the Program Works

Connecticut’s Voluntary Self-Exclusion is a statewide portal that lets any individual block themselves from participating in regulated gaming activity. Once enrolled, an exclusion applies across:

  • All three licensed online sportsbooks (FanDuel, DraftKings, Fanatics)
  • Online casino operators in CT
  • The two tribal casinos (Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun) for both sports betting and casino play
  • All Connecticut Lottery retail sportsbook locations
  • Direct marketing — operators cannot send promotional communications to enrolled individuals

Three Exclusion Terms

Individuals can choose the length of their self-exclusion:

  • 1 year — Shortest term; auto-renews unless the individual takes action
  • 5 years — Mid-term commitment
  • Lifetime — Permanent and irrevocable; cannot be reversed even at the individual’s later request

Once the chosen period ends, the individual must affirmatively renew or reactivate — exclusions do not automatically expire back to active status. For lifetime enrollments, there is no path back into licensed CT gaming under the same identity.
